Members of the Cardington High School Class of 1966 celebrated the 50th anniversary of their graduation gathering at four different venues over the Memorial Day weekend.
Following a dinner at Pine Lakes Golf Course on Friday, May 27, the class and their guests were honored during the 86th Cardington-Lincoln High School Alumni party on Saturday night.
They met again Sunday morning for lunch at Pizza Barn in Cardington and on Memorial Day they rode a wagon unit in the Cardington parade The wagon was pulled with a tractor driven by classmate Don Denton.
The class met in 1971 for its first five-year reunion and has continued the five-year increment reunions, planning to meet next in 2021.
During the alumni party, the class presented a framed recognition certificate with photos of classmates Robert Miller and Margaret Miller, brother and sister, both deceased, citing them for their philanthropic donation to the funding of scholarships for current C-LHS graduates and for many years in the future The certificate will be hung in the school.
Mills Poorman, one of their teachers met with the class and they also read communications from Mary McAlister, Fort Myers, Florida and James Brancaccio, Lexington, KY, both of whom were their former teachers.
Each member of the class received a gift created by local artist Joanne Mathews.
