GALION – Tramec Sloan announced that they have completed a $1.7 million-dollar investment project at their facility in the Galion Industrial Park. The new automation equipment replaces World War II-era machinery and allows the company retain their current 107 employees.

USDA announces availability of $1 billion to help farmers and rural businesses

COLUMBUS – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Ohio State Director Jonathan McCracken announced that USDA is accepting applications for $1 billion in grants to help agricultural producers and rural small businesses invest in renewable energy systems and make energy-efficiency improvements. USDA is making the $1 billion in grants available under the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), with funding from President Biden’s landmark Inflation Reduction Act, the nation’s largest-ever investment in combatting the climate crisis.

Adams Places at State FFA Public Speaking

Jeremiah (Jed) Adams has competed in public speaking for four years through Northmor FFA. He is a senior at Northmor High School and advanced to the state this year for the fourth year in a row. Adams competed in the advanced prepared division on March 4th at Marysville High School. Adams, President of the Northmor FFA Chapter, presented his speech titled “The Importance of Social Media in Agriculture” to a panel of judges. Adams proceeded to finals where he placed third overall in the state. He plans to attend The Ohio State University this fall to pursue a degree in Agriscience Education. Congratulations Jed!

Galion History Center – Murder Mystery CLUE at Brownella Cottage

GALION- Who killed the caretaker at Brownella Cottage? It’s up to you to find out! Saturday, April 22nd is the Spring date for live-action Murder Mystery Clue at Brownella Cottage (132 S. Union St., Galion). There will be a game at 6:00 & 8:00 p.m. The game is designed after the classic CLUE board game, except the suspects are real! With “lights on,” players tour the house and meet the suspects. The game begins at “lights out!” Each player is provided a flashlight to navigate Brownella Cottage in the dark, determine the guilty person, the weapon used, and the room where the Caretaker was murdered. Tickets for this date are limited! Cost is $20 per player. Tickets are available on our website available at www.galionhistory.com under the “Shop” tab!
