Highland would bounce back in volleyball on Thursday when they traveled to Galion and picked up a 25-22, 25-14, 25-16 win in league play.
The Scots got 31 kills and four aces from Kameron Stover. Kendal Kline added 36 assists and three aces, while Reagan Maibach finished with seven kills and 10 digs. Also, Makaylee Merckling tallied 18 digs.
Highland’s Stover set a new record for career kills in her team’s Saturday non-league win over Loudonville.
Stover broke Kam Terry’s record of 1637, which was set from 2011-14. She currently has 1643.
The match was won by scores of 25-6, 25-17 and 25-21. Stover finished with 25 kills in the match, while Kline tallied 25 assists and four kills. Mia Stanco had four kills and four blocks. Also, Merckling had 14 digs, Georgia Gantz finished with 10 digs and Addie Mullins added six aces.
Mount Gilead Indians
On Thursday, the Indians were edged at home by East Knox by scores of 24-26, 18-25, 25-21 and 15-25.
Lindsey Ayers had seven kills in the match, as well as 15 digs. Olivia Long finished with six kills and 15 digs. Both Faith White and Cassady Irwin had two aces in the match, with White also picking up 10 digs and 16 assists. Also, Kylee Whipple added 28 digs.
Cardington Pirates
On Thursday, the Cardington volleyball team was topped in league play on the road against Centerburg.
The KMAC-leading Trojans picked up the win in three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-11 and 25-10.
