GALION – Tramec Sloan announced that they have completed a $1.7 million-dollar investment project at their facility in the Galion Industrial Park. The new automation equipment replaces World War II-era machinery and allows the company retain their current 107 employees.

“This is our second piece of automation equipment, and the machine creates efficiencies and ensures quality,” said Chris Robinette, Plant Manager with Tramec Sloan. “We continue to invest in Galion and Crawford County as our business grows.”

Tramec Sloan is a U.S. manufacturer and supplier of air, electrical and brass components for the heavy-duty trucking industries, and it manages six facilities across the U.S. with headquarters in Holland, Michigan. The Galion facility focuses primarily on air products, fittings and fasteners, and hose for use in breaking systems on commercial vehicles. The newly purchased Italian equipment allows the Galion location to create efficiencies with automation while repurposing older machinery and moving employees to areas of production that are expanding.

“We congratulate Tramec Sloan on their new investment in Galion,” said Galion Mayor Tom O’Leary. “We appreciate their commitment to our community and are pleased with the economic momentum we are experiencing here.”
