Access Ohio has announced a new service location is now open and ready to serve those with Medicaid, eligible for Medicaid, Medicare and/or private insurance at 528 W. Marion Road in Mount Gilead.
Access Ohio provides psychiatry, nursing, counseling, diagnostic assessment, psychological testing and case management services to adults, adolescents, and children facing mental health and addiction concerns. Access Ohio also provides residential services to adults.
Founded in 2006 by John Johnson, MD, a practicing psychiatrist, Access Ohio delivers positive results for the individuals and communities it serves. Evidence-based standardized treatment protocols are used to promote successful client outcomes. Access Ohio’s community mental health program is accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS).
Since opening its first office, Access Ohio has expanded to five locations in Columbus and Dayton. In 2011, Dr. Johnson also opened Access Hospital Dayton, a 110-bed psychiatric hospital on the site of the former Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. Access Ohio’s telepsychiatry project provides community mental health program services throughout Ohio’s rural counties by means of telemedicine to persons of all ages diagnosed with co-occurring mental health disorders and intellectual disabilities. This innovative program is operated in collaboration with the Wright State University’s Department of Psychiatry and currently serves 55 counties.
Telepsychiatry services will soon be available at Access Ohio’s new locations, increasing theopportunities to access community-based treatment where needed services may not have been available close to home. Access Ohio also operates and will expand its HOME Choice Program. This program transitions eligible consumers from institutional settings to their own home where they are able to receive community-based services and supports. Most recently Access Ohio has acquired a primary care medical practice in London, OH where it will integrate behavioral healthcare services.
