Cardington holding football jamboree, selling season passes

Cardington High School will host a varsity football jamboree on Friday, Aug. 19, beginning at 7 p.m. This event is co-sponsored by the Ohio High School Athletic Association and allows schools to play a scrimmage-like contest that is operated like an actual game.

There will be four quarters played in game conditions, the band will perform at half time and the cheerleaders will perform throughout the evening. A gate price of $5 per ticket will be charged to offset the OHSAA fee and the cost of officials.

Before this event, there will be a spaghetti dinner hosted by the high school cheerleaders that includes spaghetti, roll, salad, dessert and drink for the cost of $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. The dinner will take place from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Also, Cardington will be offering season passes again this year. For anyone planning to attend multiple high school sport contests or both high school and junior high contests in the same season, a season pass could save money. Contact athletic director Bill Clauss at 419-864-7696 for more information.

Information received from Bill Clauss and Lori Vance.

Highland athletic passes available

The Highland school district is now selling passes for athletic events. Group passes for both fall and winter sports can be purchased, as can individual passes for both fall and winter. Passes are good for both high school and middle school events and will be honored at regular season home athletic events only.

Individual fall passes, which cost $50 for adults and $30 for students, will be on sale until Sept. 1. Individual winter passes cost the same and will be on sale from Nov. 1 to Dec. 1.

There are four different group passes: three-person ($250), four-person ($300), five-person ($350) and six-person ($400). Each group pass is for two adults, with the remaining people being school-age students. People on the pass don’t need to be immediate family. They will be sold until Sept. 1.

Full payment for passes is required at time of purchase. They will be needed at each contest, or regular admission will be required. Passes are not transferable. Passes can be purchased at the District Office. Contact Judy Deluliis for more information at either [email protected] or by phone at 419-768-2206. Please understand that since more pass options are being offered, the passes will take more time to create.
