The welcome mat is out at Pleiades Farms where an open house will be held Saturday and Sunday, March 5-6 for visitors to enjoy maple syrup related events.

Hours of the open house will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Located at 3870 Township Road 115, Pleiades Farms is owned by Eddie Lou Meimer. Jim, son of Eddie Lou and John, performs the actual tree tapping and production.

There will be a myriad of events offered for visitors who will find ample parking on the premises.

Children will have fun playing games and coloring with prizes awarded.

There will be tasting opportunities for adults with maple cooks, ice cream toppings, maple milk products, maple pop and so many other surprises.

Visitors may also visit the sugar house and see how the syrup is made.

Eddie Lou, who is a regular visitor to the Ohio Maple Congress, attended the recent event at the Lutheran Memorial Camp, Fulton, in January, where she shares information about her maple syrup business.

This farm has been in Meimer’s family, the Vaughans, since the early 1800s when it was first owned by Joseph Vaughan and later by her grandfather, Arthur Vaughan.
