Cardington Yutaka Technologies (CYT) Vice President, Doug Pfeifer accepted an award in recognition of the industry’s 20 years producing automotive parts. CYT began production in June 1996.
Now with almost 1,000 employees, they are the largest employer in Morrow County. More than 40 percent of those employees are Morrow County residents.
Pat Davies presented the award on behalf of the Morrow County Chamber of Commerce and the Morrow County Development Office. She said that CYT has the largest industrial investment in the county with over $40 million.
The industry is an automotive parts supplier for Honda of America. The primary parts they produce are: torque converters, catalytic converters and exhaust systems as well as many other parts for the automotive market.
Pfeifer thanked the Chamber and County and said, “We strive to be good neighbors.”
Pfeifer also made a pitch for the company’s employment. He said that CYT is now “in need of professionals in accounting, design engineering, production engineering and maintenance.”
Pfeifer added with pride that CYT was recently recognized by the state as being one of the top 10 international companies in Ohio.
Cardington Mayor, Susie Peyton, thanked CYT for all they do for the schools and community of Cardington. She said that they sponsor the Fourth of July Fireworks and support the schools in many ways.
