Cardington Seniors met for their monthly luncheon on Jan. 22 at the Senior Center in Mount Gilead.

Ted Walters was the guest speaker for the event.

Walters, a Cardington resident, talked about Operation Christmas Child, a program which was initiated by Franklin Graham and involves the filling of shoe boxes with items geared towards children of a certain age. These are sent around the world. Walter said he and his wife are enthusiastic participants in the program.

Giving the blessing during this meeting was Pastor Paul Turner of the Cardington United Methodist Church. The lunch was catered by Morrow County Hospital. Shirley Robinson provided cookies.

The next meeting will be held Feb. 26 at the Center when the guests will be John Hinton and Tom Cronenwett, both of whom are campaigning for the post of Morrow County Sheriff.

Reservations for the luncheon must be made by Feb. 23 by calling 419-946-4191 or 419-864-4077.
