Starting four years as the varsity goalie at Pleasant High School paid off as Brady Thompson signed his letter of intent to continue his soccer career at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

Thompson’s work ethic, leadership and tenacity in the goal helped to lead the Spartans to their first-ever third-round appearance in the district playoffs. They finished their 2015-16 season 10-5-3.

While in the goal, Thompson broke the school record for most shutouts in a season with seven games and had 19 for his career. In his junior year, he was named to second-team All-MOAC. He followed this up in his senior year with a first-team All-MOAC award along with a second-team Central District award. He also served his team as their co-captain his senior year.

Thompson will pursue an exercise sciences degree while playing for the Cougars this fall. He is the son of Jeff and Brenda Thompson of Cardington and the grandson of Lowell and Margie Chilcote of Mount Gilead.
