Northmor pounded out 18 hits in scoring 21 runs in a 21-7 win over Mount Gilead Friday. Shelbey Lilly earned the win by striking out six and giving up four hits, while pitching the opening four innings of the five-inning contest.

Offensively, Lydia Farley finished with four hits, including a pair of doubles. Karlee Carroll added two singles and a double. Cristiana Boggs finished with a triple and single, while both Aly Blunk and Mikayla Briggs added a double and single. Also, Lily Tate had a pair of hits.

For Mount Gilead, both Maddie Bell and MaKayla Lupton picked up two hits.

Highland Scots

Highland defeated East Knox by a 9-6 margin on Friday thanks to a big second inning. The Scots scored six in the second to take a 7-0 lead after two and then added one each in the fifth and seventh frames. East Knox was able to keep the game close, though, as they tallied all of their runs in the fifth frame.

Lucy Smith and Abby O’Bryant shared pitching duties with Smith getting the win. They combined to strike out four and walk four, while giving up nine hits. The Scots tallied 14 hits, though, with Morgan Wilhelm getting a double and single, while Parker Steck had three hits and both Katie Coffee and Smith had two each.
