Mount Gilead added another win to their season total on Friday when they improved to 13-6 (9-3 in league play) with a 69-36 win over Elgin.

The Indians dominated the early stages of the game, taking a 23-7 lead after one period of play and a 45-18 lead into the half. The score was then 62-27 after the third quarter as MG cruised to the win.

Four players hit double figures for Mount Gilead, as Tyler Bland tallied 18 points, Zack Hosack added 14, Deondre Cook finished with 12 and Mason Mollohan had 10.

Cardington Pirates

Cardington was able to top Fredericktown on Friday night by a score of 62-52.

The game was deadlocked in its early stages, with both teams scoring 13 points in the first quarter. However, the Pirates jumped in front by a 32-23 margin at the half. The Freddies got within a 43-38 margin after three quarters, but Cardington pulled away down the stretch to win by 10.

Devin Pearl had five three-pointers on his way to a 22-point game, while Derek Goodman added four three-pointers and wound up with 14 points on a night when he was honored for scoring 1000 points in his high school career. Also, Trey Williams added 10.

Highland Scots

Highland jumped out to a fast start against East Knox and picked up a 49-30 win on Friday.

The Scots went up 17-5 after the opening period. Both teams scored 16 points over the middle two quarters, but Highland took the fourth by a 16-9 score to pull away for the decisive win.

Alex Mason hit four three-pointers on his way to tallying 16 points, while Quin Winkelfoos added 10 more.

Highland wouldn’t be able to make it two wins on the weekend, though, as Pleasant topped them 53-27 on Saturday. The Spartans jumped out to a 15-6 lead after the first quarter and led 26-10 at the half. They would go on to take the second half 27-17 to continue adding to their lead.

Both Mason and Winkelfoos finished with seven points.

Northmor Knights

Centerburg pulled away late to earn a 69-55 win over Northmor Friday night.

The Knights played the Blue Division leading Trojans closely for much of the game, trailing 15-14 after the first quarter, 24-20 at the half and 46-40 at the end of the third. However, Centerburg took the fourth 23-15 to expand their lead into double digits.

For Northmor, Brock Pletcher hit four three-pointers in finishing with 16 points, while Tyler Kegley added 14 and Gunner Lilly scored 13. He hit three three-pointers in the contest.
