The Cardington girls suffered their first loss of the year Monday night in a non-league contest at Pleasant.

The Spartans picked up the win thanks to a fast start, as they took a 14-6 lead after the first quarter and extended it to a 34-15 margin by the half. Pleasant continued to build on their lead throughout the second half on their way to taking a 71-43 decision.

Kynlee Edwards led Cardington with 14 points, while Kyndall Spires scored 12 and Mikayla Conrad added eight.
