Mount Gilead’s sixth grade girls’ basketball team took it on the chin this past Saturday, losing a pair of contests when they visited Cardington.

In the first game the Indians were paced by Riley McCoy, Riley Burchett and Becca Staley each with two points while Kourtney James added one point.

The second game saw the Indians fight valiantly, but again come up short, struggling to keep up with a talented Pirate squad. Staley led the Tribe with three points and Taylor Hashman finished with two.

The team hopes to improve on their 2-2 record when they travel to River Valley Middle School this Saturday for a pair of games.
