On Friday, Cardington traveled to Northmor and topped the host Knights by a 45-34 margin to remain perfect on the season.

The Pirates jumped out to a 15-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back in the contest. They extended their lead to a 24-16 margin at the half. While the Knights trimmed one point off their deficit in the third quarter, Cardington took the fourth 9-5 to to clinch the win.

Kyndall Spires scored 17 to lead the Pirates, while Mikayla Conrad added 11. For Northmor, Karalee Patterson led all scorers with 19 points, hitting three three-pointers in the process. Madison Swihart added eight.

Highland Scots

Highland claimed a 56-42 home win over East Knox on Friday to improve to 2-2 in league play and 2-5 overall.

The Scots jumped out to a 34-15 lead in the first half, but the Bulldogs battled back in the third quarter to close within a 42-33 margin. Highland would finish strongly, though, outscoring East Knox 14-9 in the fourth quarter to finish on top by a 14-point margin.

Erica Sardinha led the Scots with 17 points, while Parker Steck scored 11, Taylor Belcher added 10 and McKenzie Fuller picked up nine.
