Mount Gilead broke open a close home girls’ basketball game with Highland in the third quarter on their way to picking up a 48-33 victory.
Both teams scored 12 in the first quarter and MG held a slim 21-18 lead at the half. However, the Indians were able to take a 14-6 edge in the third period to move in front by 12 points. They would then outscore the Scots 13-10 in the final period to finish on top by 15.
