On Friday, Highland fought back after a slow start to claim a 59-43 win over visiting Northmor.

The score was 16-4 in favor of the Golden Knights after the first quarter, but Highland dominated the second period to wind up with a 23-19 lead going into the half. They would add to that advantage throughout the second half, outscoring Northmor 17-11 in the third quarter and 19-13 in the fourth.

Gavin Hankins led all scorers with 18 points, while Highland also got 12 each from Jordan Bellamy and Brock Church. Hankins hit three three-pointers in the game. For Northmor, Logan Mariotti connected four times from deep in finishing with 14 points. Kooper Keen tallied 13.

Unfortunately for Highland, the same thing happened to them on Saturday when the team traveled to Fredericktown and suffered a 62-47 loss.

The Scots led 15-10 after eight minutes of action, but were outscored 21-9 in the second to fall into a 31-24 halftime deficit. While they were able to trim one point off the Freddie lead in the third period, their opponents pulled away in the fourth to preserve the win.

Rider Minnick’s 11 points led the Scots, while Hankins finished with 10.
