Northmor built a big lead over visiting Mount Gilead in the first half and was able to hold on for a 46-43 decision on Tuesday night in a KMAC boys’ basketball contest.

The Golden Knights held a slim 15-12 lead after the first quarter, but outscored their guests 12-2 in the second quarter to jump in front by a 27-14 margin. However, the Indians took a 21-11 edge in the third period to get back within three at 38-35. Both teams would score eight in the final period, as Northmor was able to preserve the win.

Northmor got a game-high 18 points by Graesin Cass, while Kooper Keen contributed 15 points and 10 rebounds and Logan Mariotti added eight points. For Mount Gilead, Paul Butterman had 14 points and nine rebounds, while Elijah Chafin scored 13 and Matthew Bland added eight. Chafin also drained three three-pointers on the night.
