Mount Gilead was able to bounce back on Friday in defeating Danville by a 62-50 margin.

The Indians got off to a good start to take a 21-16 lead after eight minutes of play. A big second quarter allowed them to widen their lead to double digits at 35-20. They continued to widen their advantage in opening up a 48-29 lead going into the final period and were able to hold on and win by 12 points.

Elijah Chafin tallied 15 points to lead all scorers in the game. Paul Butterman added 13 and Carter Kennon finished with 11.

Northmor Golden Knights

On Friday, Northmor was held to single digits in the first three quarter in falling at Centerburg by a 53-38 score.

The Trojans took a 13-6 lead after the opening period and widened their advantage to a 28-15 margin by halftime. The score was 40-24 going into the final period. Over those eight minutes, the Golden Knights held a 14-13 advantage, but would not be able to make up their deficit.

Graesin Cass had a big game in defeat for Northmor, scoring 20 of their points. Max Lower added 13 rebounds in the contest.

Cardington Pirates

Cardington fell to 1-1 on the season after losing 72-52 to Fredericktown Friday night. No further information was available.
