The opening week of the 2015 football season was a rough one for local teams.

Cardington fell 21-14 to North Union in a close-fought road contest. Also on the road was Mount Gilead, who fell 42-21 at Colonel Crawford. Competing at home was Highland, who took on Loudonville in a game won by the visitors 28-7.

Northmor, whose game with Crestview was featured this week, lost 27-19 at home.

All four teams will look to rebound next Friday. Highland will host Heath, while Mount Gilead is at home against Ridgemont. On the road are Northmor, who travels to Worthington Christian, and Cardington, who visits Riverdale.
