With a large roster, Northmor girls’ cross country coach Mark Yaussy will be hoping for a good season culminating with a nice postseason run.

“We have great numbers out once again,” he said. “We have very talented and young runners who should improve dramatically throughout the season.”

On this year’s team are Brooke Bennett, Bri Bettis, Danielle Bettis, Selena Cortez, Isabelle Ditullio, Sarah Drumm, Sarah Dudley, Kristen Duryea, Samantha Grogg, Sydney Jeannette, Reanne McDonald, Allyssa Pearce, Kate Stiver, Samantha Peters, Vivienne Cutrupi, Monique Metzger, Naomi Heilman and Rachel Morrison.

“We hope to finish in the top four of every invitational,” said Yaussy. “In addition, we hope to improve each week and place in the top four at district.”

The coach’s main concern is fighting off injuries, noting that he feels his team should have a solid year as long as they can remain healthy.

In the Blue Division of the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference, Yaussy looks at Mount Gilead, Fredericktown and Centerburg as the teams to beat, but noting, “I believe we will be able to compete with these teams as well.”
