After graduating state placer Zach Baker and three-time district qualifier Sean Dudgeon, the Highland wrestling team will hope that a number of newcomers to the program can step up.

Head coach Adam Gilmore, in his 14th season with the program and 10th as head coach, does return seven lettermen. Sophomore Christian Miller was a district qualifier last year. Also back are seniors Travis Mentzer and Alex Presley; juniors Hunter Fields, Austin Kelley and Alex Sargent and sophomore Gavin DeAngelo.

Joining them will be seniors Jonathan Sparks and Brad Morehouse; junior Ian White, sophomore Ryan Kelley and freshmen Andy Baker, William Biegler, Triston Hinkle, Dillon Lehman, Bryce Schott, Drew Ward and Jordan Kelley.

“We will be young,” said Gilmore. “We have some very experienced guys, but some new ones as well. The work ethic is fantastic and their attitudes are great. They are learning quickly. I look to see improvement each week.”
