The Ohio Elite Cross Country youth team, mainly comprised of Morrow County runners, took part in the Cross Country Coaches National Youth Championship at Voice of America Park on Nov. 18.

Competing in the 6-8 year-old girls group, Mickenzie White of Cardington was 79th overall and the first-place finisher in the six-year-old age group. Alexis Longsdorf of Cardington took 87th overall and 58th in the eight-year-old group.

October Curren of Cardington took 125th and 80th among eight-year olds, Korlyn Miller of Highland finished 134th overall and 84th among eight-year olds and Sydney Butler of Cardington claimed 150th overall and 46th in the seven-year-old group.

Their team finished 17th overall.

In the 9-10 year-old boys’ race, Brandon Hughes of Cardington ran 243rd overall and was 90th among nine-year-olds.

Morgan White of Cardington took 172nd overall and 93rd in the 12-year-old age group, while Gracie Meade of Cardington ran 246th overall and 111th in the 11-year-old age group. Both ran in the 11-12 year-old girls’ race.

The 13-14 year-old boys’ team was 18th in the race. Mason White of Cardington was 48th overall and 27th among 14-year-olds, while Hunter Bolton of Highland took 82nd and was 38th among 13-year-olds and Ethan Marshall of Pleasant placed 117th and was 56th among 13-year olds.

Jordan Bellamy of Highland claimed 202nd overall and was 97th in the 14-year-old age group and Nicky de Wet of Pleasant ran 205th overall and 99th among 14-year-olds. Kaden Miller of Highland suffered an injury and did not finish the race.

Mikenzie White won the six-year-old age group at the Cross Country Coaches National Youth Championship recently.
