Both Mount Gilead cross country teams finished second in tightly-contested races at the Upper Sandusky Ice Breaker Invitational on Tuesday.

The girls tallied 52 points to finish second to Notre Dame Academy’s 51 in the 12-team girls’ race. MG did boast the race winner, though, as Baylee Hack took first place in 19:15.66. Emily Hanft ran fourth in 20:06.37, while Allison Johnson also was in the top 10, placing seventh in 20:45.84.

Olivia Millisor took 14th in 21:49.94 and Madison Fitzpatrick was 27th in 22:59.31. Micah James placed 30th in 23:10.21, while Selia Shipman took 47th in 24:13.92.

Also, Jadyn Shipman was 67th, Bridgette Millisor picked up 69th, Zoie Barron finished 125th, Dakota Shipman ran 137th, Emily Randall was 140th, Monica Lawrance placed 149th and Kelly Baer took 151st.

The boys, competing in a 16-team race, finished second to Bay, scoring 48 points to their 46. Casey White was third for MG in 17:17.3, while Liam Dennis took fourth in 17:23.24 and Kyle White was seventh in 17:47.68.

Brett Shipman ran 13th in 18:06.72 and Ethan Supplee claimed 22nd in 18:37.7. Brandon Stevens placed 33rd in 19:05.64 and Trevor Ball rounded out the varsity by taking 35th in 19:22.35.

Also, Tyler Clark was 41st, Gavin Robinson ran 50th, Riley Conners placed 67th, Isacc George took 73rd, Sy Shipman was 82nd, Connor Page placed 90th, Eric Mowery claimed 101st, Nathan Johnson ran 108th, Wyatt Fricke took 113th, Turner Fitzpatrick claimed 115th and Tyler Knight placed 156th.

The Cardington boys were 13th in the meet, with Mason White leading the way in 25th place with a time of 18:48. Racine Hallabrin claimed 60th in 20:08, while Quinn Maceyko took 78th in 20:32.

Spencer Benson ran 130th in 22:37, Kaleb Meade took 150th in 24:43, Devin Green placed 177th in 27:06 and Andrew Schoppelrei claimed 186th in 28:48. Also, Sam West was 188th.

The girls did not have a full team. Alicia McElwee led the way, placing 42nd in 24:05, while Marlo Young ran 59th in 25:05. Also, Taylor Linkous was 107th in 28:20 and Maddie Brehm placed 108th in 28:25.
