The Northmor girls’ cross country team claimed second place at their own invitational on Monday, finishing two points behind Fredericktown in the race for the team title.

The Lady Knights tallied 63 points, but Fredericktown had 61 to win the meet. Northmor was led by Jessica Duryea, who placed seventh in 21:44.65. Maddie Jordan (9th, 22:21.62) and Samantha Peters (10th, 22:29.67) also placed in the top 10 for the Knights.

Brooke Bennett was 23rd in 23:16.68, while 24th place went to Julia Kanagy in 23:19.68. Julianna Ditullio was 34th in 23:59.33 and Sabrina Kelley took 46th in 24:59.23. Also, Samantha Grogg was 49th, Olivia Goodson took 59th, Kristie Wright finished 76th, Carolyn McGaulley ran 80th, Kenadie Hart finished 106th, Francesa Cutrupi placed 110th and Tori Carver was 126th.

While Highland’s girls finished fifth as a team, they were able to boast the race champion, as Sophia Thompson took first place in 20:29.45. Alex Debord followed in third place, finishing in 21:13.31.

Mia White placed 51st in 25:30.47, while Morgan Wilhelm claimed 74th in 27:07.32 and Sarah Cooley was 77th in 27:08.52. Heather Ross ran 81st in 27:18.89, while Brooklyn Geiger took 90th in 27:57.43.

Also, Samantha Trusler finished 93rd, Annie Bailey took 94th, Madison Cecil ran 97th, Olivia Longhenry finished 111th, Morgan Bailey placed 114th, Madison Chaffee was 125th and Haylee Price claimed 127th.

Fredericktown also won the boys’ race. Northmor placed third, after North Union, while Highland took fourth.

The Knights were led by Austin Amens, who finished seventh in 18:23.12. B.J. White took 20th place in 19:24.81, while Ryan Bentley finished 25th in 19:36.3 and Gavin Keen placed 30th in 19:40.53.

Kaleb Hart was 50th in 20:38.13, Alec Moore took 55th in 20:47.89 and Manny Heilman finished 56th in 20:54.22. Also, Josh Cramer was 70th, Mostyn Evans finished 81st, Chase Hoover took 86th, Kyle Price finished 96th, Cooper Keen ran 98th, Sam Weaver placed 102nd, Kolton Lewis was 110th, Austin Lewis claimed 120th and Zach Govani took 128th.

For Highland, Collin Kipp placed 15th in 18:48.54, while Branton Howard placed 18th in 19:06.63 and Dalton Lee took 22nd in 19:27.13. Zach Wetzel was 26th in 19:36.65 and Bruce Jordan ran 60th in 21:08.5.

Chandler Bumpus finished 63rd in 21:20.27, while Bode Sardinha was 85th in 22:03.01. Also, Christian Miller was 95th, Nefiano Bumpus took 97th, Alex McCafferty placed 99th and Andrew Gaylord ran 154th.
