Highland claimed another win Wednesday by a 4-1 margin at Elgin.

The Scots scored two runs in the second inning. After giving up one in the fifth, they tallied two more in the top of the sixth to finish on top by three.

Lucy Smith struck out eight, walked none and gave up five hits to pick up the win. She was helped by the team’s defense, which didn’t commit any errors. Offensively, Kaitlin Carney had a double and Mattie Ruehrmund added two hits.
