Cardington-Lincoln High School winter sports athletes were honored during the program held at the high school March 19.
Recognized were students who participated in boys’ basketball; girls’ basketball; wrestling, bowling and cheerleading.
Jamie Edwards, coach of the girls’ basketball team, named Sage Brannon and Kyndall Spires, Most Valuable Players; Kynlee Edwards, Best Defender; Taylor Reppart, Most Improved and Jessica Shook received the Pirate Award.
Luke McCarrell was named most improved player by boys’ basketball coach Rodney Brown; Skyler Bowling, best defender; Devin Pearl, most valuable player and Derek Goodman, Pirate Award.
Wrestling coach Joe Summer cited Taiylor Hubley, most valuable player.
Girls’ bowling coaches Morgan Edgell and Lexi Wilson named Brea Arnold, most valuable; Morgan Lehner, most improved and Andrea Arnold, Pirate Award.
Tim Edgell, boys’ bowling coach awarded Mason Trevino as the most improved player; Austin Edgell, most valuable player; and Dallas Crum was presented the Pirate Award.
Presenting the cheer awards was Lori Vance who named Lilly Grooms. best tumbler; Aleigha Parsons, cheer best all around and Paige Chalfant, most improved. Markie Sites was cited as the Most Spirited and Kaitlyn Fisher received the Cheer Pirate Award.
Emceeing the program was Athletic Director Bill Clauss. A dessert potluck was enjoyed by the athletes and their families before the program.
