Cardington recovered from a slow start on Wednesday to rout Galion by a 64-42 score.
The Tigers led 10-9 after the opening period, but Cardington rallied to take a 33-21 advantage into the half. They outscored their hosts 20-10 in the third quarter to lead 53-31 and then maintained that 22-point lead throughout the fourth quarter.
Devin Pearl led the Pirates with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Garrett Wagner hit four three-pointers on his way to finishing with 14, while Skyler Bowling added 10 points and Luke McCarrell tallied nine.
Mount Gilead Indians
Mount Gilead improved to 2-2 on Tuesday when they traveled to Crestline.
In a closely-contested game, the Indians were able to survive with a 54-50 win in the non-conference outing. The score was 24-23 at the half in favor of Mount Gilead. They would then take the third by an 11-9 margin and then outscored their foes in the fourth 19-18 to finish on top by four points.
