Cardington picked up their first win of the season on Thursday, topping Utica in a road game by a 53-39 margin.

The Pirates jumped out to a fast start in the contest, taking a 22-6 lead after the opening period. They led 28-13 at the half before taking a 15-8 advantage in the third to increase their lead to a 43-21 margin. While their opponents outscored them 18-10 in the fourth, Cardington still won by 14.

Devin Pearl led the team with 27 points and 10 rebounds, hitting three three-pointers in the process. Derek Goodman, Luke McCarrell and Skyler Bowling all scored eight, with McCarrell adding 12 boards.
