Highland wrestling fifth at Granville

Highland finished fifth at the Granville Invitational on Saturday.

In the meet, wrestlers competed in pools and then the top eight teams each had a dual. After the pools were complete, Highland was fifth of 15 teams with 105 points. They then won 39-36 in their final match after Zach Baker clinched the match with a pin.

Baker (285 pounds), as well as Gavin DeAngelo (120) and Alex Presley (182) all were 5-0 on the day. Sean Dudgeon (132) and Gavin Kafka (160) both were 3-2. Also, Ryan Kelley (145), Trea Renwick (152) and Alex Sargent (170) claimed wins.

Highland and Northmor split bowling matches

Highland and Northmor split in bowling on Saturday, with the Scot boys and Knight girls both winning.

The Scots won the boys’ match by a 1752-1538 margin. Jordan Grizzle had a 356 series than included a 203 game for Highland, while Joey Bennett (180) and Dana Hicks (173) also had strong games.

In the girls’ match, Northmor won by a 1764-1671 margin. For the Scots, Halie O’Leary finished with games of 206 and 201 for a 407 series.
