Highland overwhelmed Fredericktown on the road Friday night, topping the Freddies 42-9 to remain perfect in league play.

Dylan Tuggle took the opening kickoff 92 yards for a score and Jared Limings added a 27-yard scoring run as Highland took a 14-3 lead after the opening quarter.

In the second period, Josh Cantrell scored on a five-yard run and Javier Vasquez hauled in a 35-yard touchdown pass from Max Schreiber to increase the Scot advantage to 28-3.

Highland would add two more touchdowns in the third, both on the ground, as Limings scored on a 63-yard run and Jack Weaver added a one-yard scoring dive.

While the Freddies scored in the fourth quarter, Highland still won by 33 points in the game. Also, Satchel Denton connected on all six of his extra point attempts.

Cardington Pirates

Cardington disposed of East Knox on Friday by a 49-13 margin. T

he Pirates jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter, opening the game with a 53-yard run by Luke McCarrell and extra point by Branden Steckel. McCarrell then hit Devin Pearl for an eight-yard score to make it 14-0. After a Bulldog touchdown, Pearl returned the kick 82 yards for points to end the opening quarter with Cardington in front 21-6.

The Bulldogs scored first in the second quarter, but the Pirates responded with a 10-yard pass from McCarrell to Pearl and then a three-yard touchdown run by Daniel Kill to lead 35-13 at the half.

In the second half, Cardington got a 23-yard TD run by Kill and a 10-yard run by McCarrell, also for points, to provide the final margin of victory.
