The Mount Gilead boys’ cross country team claimed the Division III team title at the Galion Invitational Saturday, finishing with 90 points to win the 28-team race.

The Indians were led by Austin Hallabrin, who finished third overall in 16:23. Casey White was 12th in 16:59.2 and Nick Weiss placed 14th in 17:01.4. Liam Dennis claimed 18th place in 17:23.4, while Kyle White ran 43rd in 18:18. Also, Brandon Stevens took 56th in 18:32.7 and Trevor Ball placed 71st in 18:44.1.

Northmor’s boys placed 10th in the race, claiming a tiebreaker over Plymouth for that spot. James Walker was 51st in 18:29, while Mostyn Evans was 53rd in 18:31.7 and Ryan Bentley took 55th in 18:32.7. A.J. White was 62nd in 18:37.9, while B.J. White followed in 63rd with a time of 18:40. Also, Alec Moore was 103rd in 19:32.7 and Manny Heilman ran 109th in 19:44.2.

In the 27-team Division III girls’ race, Northmor finished in second place with 155 points. Jessica Duryea led the way for the Knights by placing seventh in 20:03.9. Kristen Duryea was 16th in 20:42.7, while Samantha Peters took 39th in 21:28.2 and Maria Lee finished 44th in 21:33.9. Julianna Ditullio took 51st in 22:05, Maddie Jordan was 62nd in 22:27.4 and Sabrina Kelley ran 75th in 22:37.

Mount Gilead finished sixth in the girls’ race with Baylee Hack finishing eighth in 20:09.8. Hannah Bush ran 32nd in 21:13.1 and Darcy Picker took 33rd in 21:14.4. Madison Fitzpatrick claimed 55th in 22:14.2, while Micah James was 68th in 22:31.4. Also, Bridgette Millisor placed 85th in 22:56.8 and Makayla Weaver ended up 106th in 23:47.5.

Highland ran their varsity team in the Division II and III open race and took first overall with 36 points. Dalton Lee led the team by finishing second in 17:42.1. Also, Branton Howard was sixth, Collin Kipp ran seventh, Tyler Bowen took eighth, Christian Buchholz finished 28th, Christian Miller was 46th, Zach Wetzel finished 53rd, Chandler Bumpus placed 72nd, Bruce Jordan ran 93rd, Jimmy Tebbe claimed 101st, Luke Rinehart took 119th, Nefiano Bumpus took 137th, Bode Sardinha ran 143rd, Caleb Carder was 144th, Justin Brown took 268th and Chase Higgins placed 301st.

Mount Gilead finished second in the race, with Riley Conners running 11th in 18:40. Also, Colton Clark was 15th, Gavvin Keen took 18th, Gavin Robinson ran 20th, Sy Shipman placed 32nd, Tyler Clark was 48th, Connor Page ran 111th, Nathan Johnson took 162nd and Josh Conaway placed 219th.

Cardington’s squad took 16th overall, as Quinn Maceyko finished 12th in 18:42.9. Greg Osborne was 66th, while Sonny Grooms took 147th, Spencer Benson ran 164th and Racine Hallabrin finished 256th.

Northmor finished 20th in the open race with Calvin Komer running 92nd in 20:25.2. Also, Austin Amens was 130th, Kyle Price took 141st, Kolton Hart was 160th and Ethan Chapman ran 279th.

Gilead Christian also competed in the race. Sean Linder was 31st in 19:10.3, while Justin Jones took 75th and Kuane Whitt finished 203rd.

Cardington’s girls were second in the Division II and III open race, finishing with 130 points. Emily Benson led the team by running 18th in 23:07.9. Also, Taylor Linkous was 26th, Alicia McElwee took 35th, Jessica Shook placed 40th, Sage Brannon ran 42nd, Bailey Shafer claimed 133rd and Ashlee Drury was 273rd.

Northmor took fifth in the race, with Selena Cortez placing 19th in 23:13.4. Also, Samantha Grogg finished 23rd, Brooke Huntsman ran 34th, Francesa Cutrupi was 68th, Brooke Bennett ran 77th, Carolyn McGaulley took 140th, Tori Carver placed 212th and Allyssa Pearce ran 219th.

Highland finished seventh as a team, as Sophia Thompson was fifth in 21:50.9. Also, Laura Spearman took 13th, Elizabeth Jensen claimed 45th, Jenna Brown took 95th, Madison Cecil ran 120th, Hailey Howard placed 122nd, Samantha Trusler ran 126th, Annie Bailey placed 157th, Clarissa Dudgeon was 175th and Morgan Bailey took 240th.

Also, Mount Gilead finished 21st in the race, with Jadyn Shipman finishing 30th in 23:49.7. Savannah Randall took 88th, Zoie Barron was 198th, Dakota Shipman ran 238th, Samantha Sullivan finished 245th and Kelly Baer was 270th.
