A fast start by Highland paved the way for their first win of the season over East Knox by a 35-0 margin.

The Scots, who only gave up 49 yards in the home game, scored 21 points in the first quarter. Max Schreiber opened things by hitting Dylan Tuggle for a 14 yard scoring . He would later connect with Tuggle again, who pitched the ball to Brock Veley for what became a 45-yard scoring play.

Before the quarter had ended, Schreiber struck again, this time tossing a 65-yard pass to Javier Vasquez. Highland’s running game then took over, with Jared Limings scoring in the second quarter on a seven-yard run and Logan Veley added a nine-yard touchdown run in the fourth. Satchel Denton was perfect on his five extra point kicks.

The Scots finished with a total of 460 yards. Schreiber completed seven throws for 117 yards, with Vasquez catching two for 64 of that total. Brock Veley ran for 134 yards.

Northmor Knights

Northmor struck first on Friday at Centerburg, but the Trojans rallied to take a 14-7 win.

Jordan Wiseman hit Demetrius Johnson for a 79-yard scoring pass in the first quarter and Kyle Kegley added the extra point to stake the Knights to an early 7-0 lead.

However, Northmor would not be able to light up the scoreboard again. Centerburg got touchdowns in both the second and third quarters to catch and pass the locals on their way to snaring the decision.

Wiseman completed 11 passes for 224 yards in the game, with Johnson catching five for 114 yards and Kolton Smith adding four for 55 more.
