Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course announces that The Honda Indy 200 will return to the historic road course, July 28-30, 2017 as an integral part of its 56th anniversary season.

Verizon IndyCar Series officials made the announcement today, revealing the details of its 2017 schedule. All venues where INDYCAR competed in 2016 return to the 2017 calendar, which features races on six ovals, six permanent road courses and five temporary street circuits across the United States and Canada.

“We are excited to make this announcement this early so that all of our loyal Mid-Ohio and INDYCAR racing fans can start making their plans,” said Craig Rust, president of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. “Our last two Honda Indy 200 races have been spectacular, with Ohio-native Graham Rahal winning in 2015 and then just this past July watching Simon Pagenaud edge out teammate Will Power to take the checkered flag. We can’t wait to build on these successes, and to once again play host to one of the Verizon IndyCar Series’ best events in 2017.”

Young drivers looking to reach the Verizon IndyCar Series will also take to the track during The Honda Indy 200 weekend as the entire Mazda Road to Indy ladder series will return, which includes Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires, the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires and the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda.

Fan-favorite Pirelli World Challenge will complement the weekend’s line-up for its annual stop at Mid-Ohio.

Additional spectator event weekends and ticket sales for the 2017 season at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will be confirmed in the coming weeks. For more information on the track and its events, visit www.midohio.com.
