Highland opened their volleyball season with a pair of non-conference wins at home Saturday.

They opened their day with a 25-9, 25-12, 25-10 win over Buckeye Valley. Ashton Terrill tallied 12 kills, while Taylor Belcher added 11 kills and six aces. Raina Terry had nine kills, while Krista Walters added six. Both the JV and freshman teams also won.

In their second match, the Scots overwhelmed Ontario by scores of 25-7, 25-12 and 25-11. Terrill added 15 more kills on the day, while Bailey Santo picked up seven aces and Kelsey Walters contributed nine kills. The JV team also won, while there was no freshman match.

Northmor Knights

Northmor’s volleyball season got off to a good start with a pair of non-conference wins Saturday.

They opened with a hard-fought match against Clear Fork which they won by scores of 23-25, 25-20 and 30-28. Anna Donner tallied 17 kills and three aces, while Jordyn Zoll had seven kills, one ace and 22 assists. Both Hope Miracle and Kelsie Fike added four kills, with Miracle also getting two blocks and Fike picking up an ace.

Rayanna Loyer had three aces and a block, while Caitlin Thebeault finished with an ace and seven assists. Also, Lindsey Wiseman had 10 digs and Cristianna Boggs added six. The JV team also won.

The Knights had an easier time with Lucas in their second match, taking it by scores of 25-15 and 25-18. Miracle finished with two blocks and four kills, while Zoll had 15 assists and an ace. Thebeault had four assists and two aces and Donner tallied six aces, 10 digs and six kills.

Boggs added six kills and Wiseman added four more. Also, Fike picked up four kills. The JV also won their contest.

Cardington Pirates

Cardington was edged by North Union in their season-opening match on Saturday by scores of 20-25, 25-23, 19-25 and 10-25.

Jordan Deskins led the team with 11 kills, while Marissa Hall had 16 assists and Rylie Partlow added 22 digs.
