The third annual Fishing 4 Purpose Trevor Clark Memorial Scholarship Tournament will be held Saturday, July 23 at Oakland Park Conservation Club in Marengo.

All proceeds from the tournament will go into a scholarship fund in his name. To date, this tournament has raised over $9000 in scholarship funds, which go to graduating seniors of Mount Gilead High School and Riverdale High School (Fort Myers, Fla.) and to Oakland Park’s three-day kids’ field camp and hunter safety program.

The tournament runs from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with registration beginning around 1 p.m. Cost is $20 for anyone 18 and older and $10 for anyone under 18. There is a two-pole limit and no license is needed. There is no entry fee for spectators.

There will also be a silent auction and a Bash for Cash car event, as well as concessions and playgrounds on site for children. There will be two grand prizes for the biggest fish caught and the total weight caught, as well as a cash payout for the smallest fish caught. There also are two tagged fish pots, with one over $900 and the other over $500, plus a bonus $500 paid out to the first tagged fish caught during this tournament only.
