A Mt. Gilead man is in jail after allegedly assaulting his young child.In a press release issued July 9, 2014, the Mount Gilead Police Department stated they responded July 7 to a residence on East Center Street in Mount Gilead at approximately 7:50 pm after a female called 911 requesting help. The female caller reported her husband had hurt their seven month old baby.Upon arriving at the residence, officers contacted Brittany Warrick. Warrick stated she had just arrived home from work and found her husband leaving the residence. Before leaving, he stated he had hurt the baby.


Memorial Catfish Tournament coming up July 19

Volunteers answer call for United Way Day of Caring

The annual United Way Day of Caring was carried out on June 25 with 107 volunteers performing duties at three sites in the county.The Heimlich Park in Cardington, was covered with 17 1/2 tons of mulch by a crew of volunteers that worked energetically in cloudy, threatening weather to improve that site dramatically.
