To the Editor:

Another levy for the Johnsville Fire Department is being asked for. As of this time two levies have been passed to build a new department. No progress has been made at this time of building it.

There was property bought to build one in 1998 for $85,000 at the present location. Ten thousands dollars was spent for no reason for the Johnsville School property two years ago. I think if the chief and fireboard would try to build a community cost effective fire department instead of a big city one they would have no trouble getting one started.

The citizens of Perry and Congress Townships are under a tax base that has almost doubled and to afford more increases is almost unacceptable so I’m asking you to please vote ‘no’ on the Levy.
