Cardington’s cross country teams ran that the OHSAA Pre-Season Meet, held on Saturday at National Trails Raceway.


The boys finished eighth of 19 teams in their race with Jacob Long leading the way by placing fifth in 16:57.84. Quinn Maceyko took 31st place in 18:41.85, while Josh Queener ran 73rd in 20:34.28. Dallas Crum placed 89th in 20:52.31 and Mike Queener was 97th in 21:14.46. Also, Jared Gandelot was 131st in 22:52.01 and Spencer Benson took 157th in 24:41.57.


The girls placed 15th in a 17-team race. Caitlyn Lee-Rosch led the way by running 75th in 25:32.7. Bailey Shafer was 98th in 26:47.93, while Sage Brannon took 104th in 27:48.04. Dakota Crum placed 118th in 28:25.26 and Jessica Shook finished one spot behind in 28:31.35.


Destiny Williamson finished 130th in 30:29.59 and Sami Bennett was 134th in 31:11.58. Also, Alicia McElwee ran 141st.
