Cardington-Lincoln eighth grade student Quinn Maceyko won the school spelling bee held February 10 in the Drouhard Auditorium.
Placing second was Maddie Brehm, fifth grade.
Quinn and nine other students comprise the top ten who will compete in the county bee which will be hosted by Cardington on Monday, March 10 at 6 pm in the Drouhard auditorium.
There were 44 students in grades four through eight competing in the Cardington Bee. Quinn won the bee correctly spelling “electioneering.”
In addition to Quinn and Brehm, the other students who qualified for the county bee are Mackenzie Hart, fourth grade; Eric Hamilton, Sam McKee and Liam Warren, fifth grade; Abby Devore, sixth grade; Christina Rose, seventh grade and Maxwell Yocco and Marissa Hall, eighth grade.
Judges were Jillian Kaufman, fourth grade; Pauline Whitesel, fifth grade and Carole Neighbor, MOESC. Scott Hardwick pronounced the words. Coordinating the bee was Marty Barnett.
