Gilead Christian School prepares for its 33rd year under the newly appointed administrator Mr. Gary Miller, who previously served GCS as an excellent teacher. Previous administrator Aimee Horton has relocated to the warmer climate of Florida after overseeing a 25% increase in K-12 enrollment over the last three years.
Gilead Christian School offers a comprehensive education in a Christian environment. While sponsored by Gilead Friends Church, GCS students come from 47 churches representing 18 denominations. Gilead Christian is a tuition based school but offers a Tuition Assistance Program to serve as much of the community as possible.
The K-6 school is located at 220 S. Main St, across from the Morrow County fairgrounds. The Junior High/Senior High is located at Gilead Friends Church, 2 miles south of Mt. Gilead on US 42. Also located at that location is the Early Childhood Center that offers the largest daycare and preschool in Morrow County.
The school year begins Wednesday, September 3 – following the Morrow County Fair. Any enrollment questions can be answered at either school facility throughout August from 9am-1pm, Tuesday-Thursday. The school offices can be contacted at 419-947-5739 (K-6) or 419-946-5990 (Preschool; Jr/Sr High).
Two open houses have been scheduled for all current and interested families. The Early Childhood Center will host an open house on Thursday, August 21 at 7 p.m. The K-12 open house will be held at both buildings from 1-5 p.m. on Friday, August 29 during fair week.
Educating children from 6 weeks old thru 12th grade, all are welcome to come see what Gilead Christian School has to offer.
