Members of the Wayside Garden Club met at Trudy Oliver’s house on Saturday, August 9.
Roll call was answered by telling what leaves they brought to use when making steppingstones.
The minutes were approved as read and the Treasurer’s report was given. A brief report on the club’s day out at The Lilies of The Field which in consisted of a tour of the gardens was where many beautiful day lilies and other flowers were admired. Attendees then enjoyed lunch at Granny’s Kitchen.
Committee reports were then given. The Fair Floral Hall and the uptown garden will be scheduled for grooming.
An invitation has been received from the North End Garden Club to attend their meeting on August 18 to see “The Plants and Gardens of Australia” by Jo Ann Graham.
Reminders: The 83rd OAGC State Convention is August 18-20 at Mohican State Park Lodge; our next month’s meeting is the Fall Plant and Bulb Sale and the installation of the 2014-2015 Officer Team.
Everyone then enjoyed refreshments provided by Mary Fuller and Trudy.
The program, Leaf Stepping Stones then followed. Members created the stepping stones by spreading a cement mixture over leaves or over leaves in a mold. It was a fun project!
