LIMA — No one was injured Monday in an early morning house fire that caused $30,000 in damage.

The fire at 506 E. 2nd St., Lima, was reported at 1:09 a.m. No one was home at the time of the fire, which appears to have started in the attic, said Lima Fire Department Battalion Chief Ed Hower.

The cause was undetermined, Hower said.

The occupant, Prentice Jones, was away from home at the time. He is not the owner. That is Santario Simpson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, according to records from the Allen County Auditor’s Office.

The fire burned the house wrap on the neighboring house at 506 E. 2nd St., Hower said.
