It’s patterned after one of the largest street fairs in Cardington history, and the Street Fair to be held in the village on June 28 promises to offer many of those same events plus more. All events will take place in the area of the Community Park.
Organized by Friends of Cardington, the street fair events will take place on the park stage, the Maceyko Tax Stage and the American Legion Hall stage.
There will also be a skate board competition, a Bloodmobile visit, Lori Cardiff’s Smile Time State, the 5K Main Street Stroll, a fire department tug of war and topping off the day will be Fireworks at Dusk sponsored by CYT at 10 pm.
A Cornhole Tournament, a double elimination tournament, will be held in the American Legion Park beginning at 2 pm. Registration, $25 per team. Team check in will be 1 pm There will be first place award of $125; second place, $75 and third place $50. This tournament is being sponsored by First Federal Bank of Ohio and Friends of Cardington. Another popular event will be the Annual Car Show to be held on the parking lot of the American Legion Hall on Park Street. Registration will take place from 4 to 7 pm and awards will be made at 9 pm. There will be a 50/50 drawing, door prizes and a total of ten trophies awarded. The first 50 cars will receive a dash plaque.
