The May Primary is over and one of the best and brightest outcomes is the passage of the MCDD levy. After 26 attempts, the agency will finally be able to plan for services that have been unavailable to so many people over the past 12 years.

Morrow County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Whetstone Industries would like to thank voters for their support in passing the May 6 levy. Many individuals and organizations spent generous amounts of time and talent in helping to build awareness and support.

Special thanks to the Community Partners Group who not only stepped up in support of our agency, but also took the time to get to know the facts about our agency and to know us personally. Their talent and energy motivated us and made us feel a part of the community where we live, work and play.

Other special thanks goes to the following for their support: Morrow County pastors; leaders of many different Morrow County clubs, groups, and organizations who allowed us to visit and speak; Whetstone individuals and their families who never gave up hope; Early Intervention families that shared their very personal stories; High School Democrats of America Club who spent many precious hours talking with people; and anyone who did anything from placing a sign to going out and speaking on our behalf.

As we move forward with re-establishing some of the services lost in the past, please feel free to stop by our buildings, see what we are accomplishing and say hi to us!
