Reservations are being taken for the 84th Cardington-Lincoln High School Alumni party to be held Saturday, May 24, at the high school.
The CHS class of 1964, the 50 year class, will be honored throughout the evening and will be introduced individually during the program.
Giving the table grace before the dinner, which will be served a 5:30 pm, will be Rita Barton, Nelson Hack, president of the class, will welcome the Class of 2014 into the alumni association. Responding will be McKenzie Smith, president of the Class of 2014.
The dinner menu is grilled chicken breast, parsley potatoes, corn, tossed salad, a roll, carrot cake, lemonade, water and coffee. The cost isf $20 and includes the dinner and registration for the evening’s events.
The program/meeting will begin a 6:30 pm. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place and a scholarship will be awarded to a 2014 graduate. Classes will be recognized and increment classes will be given special recognition. These include the Classes of 1939, 1944,1949, 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, etc.
The Palace Theater Big Band from Marion will wind up the evening playing for listening or dancing beginning at 7:30 pm.
Graduates of Cardington High School or those who attended the school but did not graduate from CHS are invited to attend the alumni party. It’s a time to meet and renew friendships.
Classes wishing to meet privately in a classroom before the dinner are asked to contact one of the three listed below so the room can be reserved. Photos will be taken of those increment classes for publication in the local paper.
The cost of $20 includes the dinner fee of $13 and the registration fee of $7.
Donations to the alumni scholarship fund are welcome. Each year a scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior. This year the scholarship stipend is $1,000.
Those who wish to attend only the meeting and dance will be charged $7.
Reservations should be made by May 17 and are asked to be honored. Cancellations should be made before May 23. Reservations that are made and not honored must be paid by the committee.
