Highland dropped a 3-0 decision to Centerburg last Monday, as they could not get any runs off their six hits in the game.

Both Hailey Moore and Marissa Shepherd had multi-hit performances in the contest. On the mound, Megan Oder struck out eight and walked none, but surrendered 10 hits.

The Scots rebounded the next evening with a 3-2 win over Northmor. Highland scored two in the top of the second inning, but watched their hosts tie the score with a two-run third frame. The fourth inning saw Highland score once, though, and they were able to keep their opponents off the scoreboard the rest of the way to preserve the win.

Oder struck out 11, while scattering six hits to pick up the win. The Scots mustered eight hits, with both Shepherd and Hannah Coffee having multi-hit games. For Northmor, Whitney Clever struck out three and walked one. Both Kelsey Reeder and Kayla Penney had multi-hit games, with Penney smacking a double.

While the Scots had excellent pitching on Thursday, they could not tally any runs in a 1-0 nine-inning loss at home to Ridgedale.

Oder struck out 15 and only gave up six hits, but suffered the loss. Highland picked up nine hits, with Carley Gahm, Moore and Harley Steck all getting two.

Mount Gilead Indians

Mount Gilead’s offense was stymied by Centerburg for the second time this year in a 6-1 loss on Thursday. While Raygan Walters had a triple and double, the team only managed three hits in the contest.

On the mound, Sarah Moodispaugh tallied one strikeout and four walks. While she only gave up six hits, the defense committed four errors behind her.

The next night saw the Indians jump out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning against visiting Ridgedale. That lead held until the third inning, when the Rockets scored six to take the lead. The visitors then added eight in the fourth inning and five in the fifth, while the Indians only were able to add one to their total, to finish with a 19-5 win in five innings.

For the Indians, Maddie Bell and Kendra Howard both had multi-hit games, with Howard picking up a triple.
