When one sees the sign “Farmers Market” you immediately think of the bountiful produce being offered for sale that the farmer has produced through their hard labor.
The recent market in Mount Gilead was disturbing to say the least.
We are constantly being bombarded everywhere with alcohol in some form being promoted. Television and every occasion it seems.
When anyone came into Mount Gilead when this market was taking place you immediately saw the banner proclaiming what was taking place right? Wrong. The first banner, which was many times the size of all the others put together, was for Budweiser.
This diminished the real meaning of what the market was all about and should not have been allowed.
I would hope any further markets would not have anything but the items the farmers produce.
