2:39 A.M. Fire control advised of a 911 hang up at the East Street address. They advised they attempted to call back several times but the number was out of service. Upon arrival, all the lights were off inside the residence and I knocked on the door several times and did not get an answer.
5:23 A.M. Complainant advised that his neighbors on South Delaware Street were playing music very loud and he has not been able to sleep all night. Upon the officer’s arrival he could hear the music and the front door was open. The officer knocked on the door and saw two men passed out. The officer knocked several times and identified himself and they were not waking up. The door was unlocked and the officer entered the residence and woke them up. The officer advised them why he was there and turned the music off.
9:00 P.M. The complainant found a wallet on West High Street near Delaware Street. The officer had dispatch make contact with the owner of the wallet. The owner of the wallet came to the police department and retrieved the wallet.
9:19 P.M. The complainant reported that someone had thrown a rock at her while she was walking to her grandson’s apartment on South Delaware Street. She also advised that someone had been inside her grandson’s apartment and wrote something on the bathroom wall. The officer spoke with the grandson and he showed me that someone had written “HI” on the tub surround with toothpaste or something. The officer told both of them that he would document the incident and would do extra patrol in the area.
10:59 P.M. The complainant reported that he heard someone was throwing rocks at the South Delaware Street apartments again. He requested extra patrol in the area. The officer told him we would provide extra patrol as time allowed.
11:46 P.M. Unknown caller reported that there were several people involved in a fight behind building 554 on Lee Street. The officer located a group of people behind 551 Lee Street but they were laughing and visiting with one another. The officer told them that they should probably call it a night and they agreed.
12:17 A.M. The complainant reported the theft of merchandise from Kroger. A male subject was later located and cited for theft. The stolen merchandise was returned to Kroger.
5:03 A.M. The complainant reported that someone had pushed the air conditioner out if his window on Town Street. Upon arrival the officer observed the air conditioner lying on the floor below the window inside the residence. The officer advised the complainant that the report would be documented.
10:01 A.M. The complainant reported that there was a toddler knocking on doors and crying in the 500 block of Lee Street. When the officer arrived we asked the toddler to show us where his mom and dad were at. He took us to apartment and the door was ajar. The officer made contact with the toddler’s Godmother and explained the situation to her. The officer told her to keep a better eye on the children.
11:09 A.M. The complainant called to ask about a situation regarding child custody/ visitation. The complainant’s daughter is deceased and the grandmother has custody of the granddaughter. The child’s grandmother on her father’s side has visitation. The child is enrolled in summer school but when she is at her other grandmother’s home for visitation they refuse to take her to school. The officer explained to the complaint when the situation becomes criminal but that the situation is still civil unless the school files some type of truancy charge regarding the child.
3:04 P.M. The complainant reported that the neighbor’s dog was loose and chasing people acting aggressive on West High Street. The officer spoke with the dog’s owner and explained the situation to him. He said that he dog got out of the home while he was mowing the yard. He apologized for the incident and said he would keep a better eye on the dog.
1:02 A.M. The complainant reported a suspicious male standing on the porch of Town Street address. The complainant advised that she did not believe it was the resident and the subject had been standing there for approximately 20 minutes. When the officer’s arrived they did not observe anyone in the area.
12:25 P.M. Dispatch advised of several people, selling services, door to door, in the area of Lee Street and Buckeye Lane. Upon the officer’s arrival he located one male. The male subject stated that there are two other people in town selling cable services. The male subject stated he has a peddlers permit for Delaware but not for Mt. Gilead. The officer explained that he needed to get a permit to sell door to door in Mt. Gilead.
1:25 P.M. The complainant contacted the station and advised that she was concerned with a dog’s well-being on West Marion Road. The complainant advised that she was at Discount Drug Mart and noticed a small dog inside a vehicle. The officer advised the complainant that he would patrol the area. The officer located the vehicle and the small dog inside of the vehicle appeared to be okay.
2:03 A.M. Cited and released a female subject for driving under suspension, Making false statements and white light to the rear. Also cited a male subject for wrongful entrustment of a motor vehicle.
7:55 A.M. The complainant contacted the police department to advise of a possible stray dog on her property. She advised that the dog was not being aggressive.
7:51 P.M. The complainant reported that he thought someone had been under the hood of his struck. He said he could not tell if they had tampered with anything or not. He wanted the incident document and requested extra patrol.
2:09 A.M. While on patrol, the officer observed a large amount of trash in the roadway on W. Marion Street. Upon checking he found it to contain several pieces of mail for the resident of West Marion Street. The officer removed the items from the roadway.
5:06 A.M. While on patrol, the officer observed a cement truck parked on the north side of the Ellis Brothers property with the turn signal activated. The officer found the vehicle to be unlocked and deactivated the signal.
1:38 P.M. Complainant requested a well -being check at the Iberia Street address. Complainant stated he hasn’t seen the home owner for a couple of days and the front door was open. Upon our arrival we found the front door ajar and several lights turned on inside the residence. The officer’s entered the residence but didn’t find anyone or anything out if order.
