Cardington postal carriers and employees collected 624 pounds of food for the Stamp Out Hunger Drive this month.

The drive is conducted the second Saturday in May when food is collected by postal workers, employees and volunteers in more than 10,000 cities and towns across the U.S.

The drive has delivered more than one billion pounds of food the past 24 years.

Locally, the food was delivered to the Cardington Community Food Pantry, a coalition of community churches. The food is distributed from the First United Methodist Church in Cardington.
